If You Still Support Trump, You’re Not a Good Person

It’s time to denounce him and make amends to the people you’ve wronged

It’s pretty tough to live a rewarding life if you can’t maintain a positive self image. Everybody likes to think of themselves as a good person. When the reality of behavior does not align with the ideals of meritorious action, human beings resort to self-delusion in order to escape the torment of conscience.

Delusion is sort of an emergency fail safe to keep people from committing suicide and buy enough time to make amends for the errors of their past. It numbs you so that you can engage in productive action, but existing within the fog of delusion is not an effective or satisfying way to live.

One would think that after the events of January 6th, there would be few remaining Trump supporters. A police officer is dead, and our whole government was threatened. More people died in the Capitol Hill insurrection than in the Benghazi attacks which led to 10 investigations over multiple years. We should expect at least the same level of diligent inquiry into this most recent national tragedy.

Despite all this, many individuals are still passively sitting on the sidelines and watching the proceedings with a detached awareness. Those of us that have been speaking out…
